Week 4: #8 Really simple w/RSS
I have just now finished subscribing to ten of the top 200 most popular feeds. However, somehow I have already received my bling for RSS. I don't know how this happened because I have also received something from the Washington Post and New York Times through my work email and I never would have used my work email to receive these feeds. Could you please double check to see why I am receiving emails from these feeds and why I have received bling for an exercise that I have not completed? Also, do you suppose I should have received credit for another exercise and got RSS credit in its place.?
Week 5: #12 Library Elf
HCPL does all the things for me that this service does. HCPL informs me by email that my requests are waiting to be picked up, that my items will be due in a few days and that my items are overdue. I can see that this would be helpful if you had a number of cards to oversee or maintain. Although, I would probably be hesitant to use this service because of privacy reasons.
Week 5 #11 Library Thing
I will definitely tell my son and his wife about "Library Thing". Between the two of these avid readers, they need a way to catalog all the books that they have. Would this normally cost something for the general public? Thanks to Beth Kripple from ATA for walking me through the posting of my library book covers on my blog. I and several other staff members from BC could never have done it without you, Beth. Thanks. You are one special lady!

Week 7: #17
Cell phones are fabulous and are very helpful!
Technology is not a priority of mine. I feel personal contact and relationships are much more worthy of my time.

Week 7: #16
I didn't realize the Wikipedia was a wiki. I guess with the "pedia" at the end I expected it to be more of an encyclopedia. I definitely won't be using that again, I'm usually looking for truth. I added my blog address on the ihcpl wiki, as well as, making a comment under favorite animals. A wiki that I think would be helpful to our library is a wiki like the book lovers wiki with all of the book reviews. I enjoyed reading through some of the reviews and will probably read some of the books mentioned. "All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal." Ps 119:160

Week 3: #6
I enjoyed browsing through some of the trips available on the trip planner of yahoo travel. It gave me a wishlist of future travels. "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18

Week 3: #7
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else."
Acts 17:24-25
Week 3 exercise 6
Flickr color fields was interesting to play with. Each degree of color you clicked on would bring up multiple photos of things that were that color. I could use that to build my photo library in flickr. "Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them." Psalm 111:2

Week 5: Exercise 10
I played with avatar at http://avatars.yahoo.com/ and used the tabs such as appearance, hairstyles, apparel and changed the color of eyes and hair. It was fun but the image was definitely a 40 year younger version of myself. I saved the image changes but I never could figure out how to post the image on this blog. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
