Extra YouTube

This is the video I found and wanted to post on my blog. I have an interest in music history and thought the content of this video was inspirational.

2 Corinthians 9:14:15 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
Ephesians 1:6-8 ...to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

Week 10: #23

Yea! I think that with this post I have fulfilled all the exercises. I have learned about the existance of some technology that I was not aware of. It's forced me to go beyond my comfort zone. That is good! The favorite discoveries was Zoho, LibraryThing and the downloadable media. What I learned today will be changing tomorrow. Just like life, technology goes on.
The frustrating parts to this training:
1. those times when I have thought "I don't understand this! I just need to get on with this so I can move on to the things that can help me accomplish the things that really need to be done."
2. the fact that this has taken a lot more time than the ten hours of training that is being credited to each of the participants.
3. the open lab that I drove to and spent a good portion of my day off was of no help at all. The individuals that were assigned to help were more interested in getting their own twenty-three things accomplished than helping the ones that came for help. I went clueless to the open lab, and I left clueless and angry.
I know that everyone who helped put this program together spent an awful lot of time on making these training hours available. Thanks for your additional time that you spent.

Week 9: #22 (The end is in sight!!!)

I found that HCPL has a lot more titles available than the other sites. I definitely found a number of titles that I would be interested in downloading once the MP3 on my Christmas wishlist has been fulfilled. I tried searching for an author I enjoy, Diane Mott-Davidson, but I did not find any titles. HCPL has very few of her titles available in audiobooks. and many of the titles available are not in unabridged format, so I was hoping that I could find the titles in the downloadable option.

Week 9: #21

I didn't really know what to expect from podcasts so I looked around and found a mugglecast, but also a more helpful, as far as library usage possibilities, that explores classic American literature, http://americanlitreview.audioblog.com/rss/americanliteraturereview.xml
I also learned that if you have a favorite NPR program that you simply can't miss & it will ruin your day if you miss it. You can use this technology method to subscribe to it and listen later. I'm going to make sure my son-in-love knows about this.

Week 9: #20

You are right you can find most anything. I felt badly about viewing anything for any length of time because of the slow-down that it causes. I did find a clip that I hope to post to my blog but at this time I felt I didn't have the time to create an account and then figure out how to post it. I will try to complete that task at a quieter internet usage time.

Week 8: #19

Wow! I had no idea that anything like Zoho existed. No downloading, just access the internet and complete that document. I imported a staff calendar that I've been working on but I have not been able to complete. Reasons: too many distractions and the calendar is in "my documents" on my personal work log on. I can now work on this at home, at the circulation staff computers, wherever I can connect to internet and whenever time allows.
I'm also going to save some of my files at home just in case the inevitable happens and my hard-drive crashes on my ten year old T-Rex. Oh! I mean my ten year old computer. I will now have my files backed-up in cyberspace. This is just too easy!

Week 6: #13

I read the info on the habits of Del.icio.us users and the beginner's guide to Del.icio.us. My head is sort of swimming! (maybe it's the hour of the day or the amount of time I've been sitting in front of my home computer) I could watch the video but choose not to do that right now because my speaker on my home computer is shot (maybe that should be on my wishlist for Christmas). I'll have to watch the 8 minute tutorial video at work. (Sorry co-workers and customers, your computers will be slowing down the next time I have a chance to get back to this exercise at work.)
When I linked into the HCPL Del.icio.us account for reference resource, I discovered I could spend many a day reading, and clicking and reading, and click and reading... One can get lost in it all!
Did you see the incentives offered by PLCMCL? WOW!!! I think I would have worked a little harder to complete these 23 things.
I'm not a real big web-surfer (although having arrived at the gift-giving season I intend to use it more), but I can see how handy this could be for someone involved in research on a daily basis.
